Artistic License

The dark blue canvas 

splattered with discoloured 

                            spots of red

and 

                 yellow 

and green 

some smoothed out, 

pigment blended into the 

soft folds and swipes of the

brush 

others refuse to submerge 

into the indigo waves 

standing against the 

background 

not 

       blurring 

into the endlessness;

the standouts 

Disrupting what once was 

All the same, 

Ripping the canvas 

By the seams 

And creating something new
