An Attempt to Enunciate

it’s hard to create

when you cannot

sep er ate

the feelings

stored away

in boxes tapped

FRAGILE:

HANDLE WITH CARE

and the ones

that are bursting to

be seen,

be heard,

be shared.

it’s hard to create

when you cannot

sep er ate

the hurt in your heart

from the loss,

or the gluing

your hands
have been

tasked with:

holding the pieces

together,

papier-mâchéd

botched, and bloated,

it’s hard to create

when you cannot

sep er ate

the hands and

the heart

from the love of creating

in a time of destruction,

tearing through the lines

in the tapestry.

it’s hard to create

when you cannot

sep er ate

a time where

you haven’t been around,

but… that is now.

it’s hard to create

when no matter how

much you stumble,

no words can define

the void the things i have

boxed up,

plastered over,

no words can define,

determine,

emphasise,

how hard it is

to create

when you cannot

sep er ate
